Beautiful location with amazing views of the Urubamba River, adjacent mountains, and gorgeous River Bank gardens. Views from our room were spectacular, the bed very comfortable, sheets of the highest quality, heated bathroom floor, the best rain shower head and shower I've ever experienced. The restaurant below at River level had generally very good service and an attentive manager Xavier and waiter Dany, the finest dining linen I've ever seen, an amazing assortment of rolls and indigenous seeds and granola and omelets you can imagine for breakfast, and if you want an evening snack their light meals are large and tasty.. Try the crispy chicken fingers with quinoa.Breakfast service was a little slow on the hot items and lattes and some of the young women serving in the dining room speak very little English so things can get confusing. The charge for exchanging currency is 10% which seems unnecessarily steep! Why not just do away with the charge and limit the maximum amount you can exchange? It seems a disservice when you are focusing on service. The stairs down to the rooms and then further down to the restaurant then all the way back to reception can be challenging for those who may have limited mobility. In fact anyone with weak knees should think twice about using this hotel keeping in mind that it is at 9,000 FT elevation. There is a golf cart but it was not offered to us so I suppose getting around could be arranged. We look forward to trying the Belmont monasterio and the Belmont sanctuary. Beautiful hotel with nice rooms and wonderful bathrooms. The hotel has a really nice location on the river Urubamba. I would have given the hotel a five star however they lost two points in two important areas. 1. We were at the pool and there was no service until we walked up to the reception an hour later. Service in general was slow (although very friendly) 2. What self respecting 5 star hotel charges their guests a measly 10usd for spa entry? - Belmond you are charging guests over 600usd a night. Fix this ASAP.NOT OKBtw feeding Alpacas and llamas was great. Also their garden is impecable. Lindo hotel com quartos agradáveis ​​e banheiros maravilhosos. Estuvo excelente nuestra visita, fuimos al bar y a comer algo como piqueo. El servicio del bartender de nombre Eusebio fue A1 (y preparó un cocktail espectacular) al igual que el personal del restaurante. Pedimos una tabla de quesos que estuvo muy buena, de todas maneras volveremos.

The hotel itself is incredible, but what really stands out above all is the attention and care from it's employees.... absolutely delightfull!

Lindo lugar, tranquilo para desconectar de la ciudad. Tienen una piscina al aire libre, alpacas bb, no hay tv. La comida y el servicio debuena calidad.

Muy bueno. Habitaciones cómodas, servicio impecable, buena comida, la vista y paisajes son bellos. La ubicación sobre la ladera permite que todas las habitaciones tengan una vista espectacular al río y la montaña. Muy recomendable

O gerente de lugares, comidas e bebidas incríveis, Omar, é a pessoa mais gentil que fará de tudo para tornar seu evento especial ainda mais especial. Toda a equipe é muito doce. Eles também têm duas alpacas mais fofas que você pode alimentar. A propriedade está muito bem cuidada, o jardineiro Pedro está a fazer um trabalho maravilhoso. Uma estadia tão agradável que tivemos. Definitivamente recomendo.

Conocimos lugares maravillosos así como la cultura del lugar siendo parte de ella y probamos unos platos exquisitos! Jose de recepción y Radumir del restaurante hicieron de cada detalle una experiencia! Con todos los protocolos de seguridad dada la situación actual... Definitivamente si van al Valle Sagrado, este es el hotel para disfrutarlo!

Amazing place, food and beverage manager Omar is the kindest person who will go above and beyond to make your special event extra special. The whole staff is very sweet. They also have two cutest alpacas that you can feed. The property is very well taken care of, gardener Pedro is doing a wonderful job. Such a pleasant stay we had. Definitely recommend.

This hotel is amazing - the food, service, people, views, etc. You won’t be disappointed. My only regret is that we only stayed one night. We will return and spend several nights here.

I was at your hotel in the Sacred Valley during the lock down in Peru at the Hotel Rio Sagrado. I wanted to acknowledge your general manager Patricia Pinillos and her staff. We were there for just about one month. Patricia and her staff were the most wonderful people. They made me so at ease and at home given the stressful situation we were in. Patricia was always there for us and created so many happy memories there even though it was tough. The other names of her staff that I would like to include are Javier Reyes, Yenifer Meza, Carlos, Jhon and Angela. You have wonderful people at that hotel. Please express again my gratitude to them and especially to Patricia. Because of her and her team, I will always look to stay at Belmond Hotels. I am not going to be traveling for a while but when I do I will always look for your hotels and brands. Thank you gain and please realize you have wonderful people at the Hotel Rio Sagrado!

First-class collaborators, the excellent restaurant, the spacious rooms, the warmth and affection of all the collaborators is the most rewarding thing you will undoubtedly take home. Great hidden gem. Location is perfect for using the train to Machu Picchu. The rooms were ok and did not have air conditioning, which made our stay uncomfortable. They left several huge fans which did not help. Instead they were eyesores. Their guides were great. The tour prices reasonable. The on property restaurant has great food and wine. Overall it was a great stay. The hotel has two prominent weaknesses, concierge/front desk help and no a/c.

Wasn’t impressed with the room - I’ve never had to kill so many mosquitoes in my life (53 to be exact). The beds were otherwise comfortable, but the sound insulation was poor. The bathroom was nice. However, my bathroom had no hairdryer, and the phone by the bed didn’t work - so I couldn’t request one. The next day I noticed a second phone which actually worked.

A few of us visited the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu so we contacted Belmond and the experience was top notch from Ursula who assisted us with the booking to Carlos, our guidesand everyone we dealt with in Belmond. The property is beautiful, service was state tube and the food was tasty. The hotel has its own train stop so we got picked up right at the doorstep on our way to Machu Picchu onboard of the Vistadome. The property is right by the Urubamba river, has a spa, heated pool and even their own resident baby alpacas. Since it was winter, we even found hot water bags warming our beds upon returning from dinner. What a nice touch. We were so very lucky to have Carlos as our guide. He was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely enjoy what he does.

Pretty place. Minor hiccup with service.After asking whether the tap water is potable, staff recommended bottled water. I asked for four bottles as I was about to go for a run. I checked in at the front desk too before leaving. But, when I came back exhausted there was no water. It took a total of four attempts to get water. Suffice to say that only two bottles ever made it.That being said, I want to point out that we were able to feed alpacas in the garden which was one of the best things of the entire vacation.

From the moment we stepped off of the train, we felt special.A hotel employee was waiting to take our bags and help us off of the train.He drove us to the check in desk, where we were greeted with warm towels to wash our hands and a wonderful mint tea.We were escorted to our room in a golf cart and were amazed by the beauty of the property as we were riding.We were thrilled when we walked in to the room to see rose petals laid out on the bed in the shape of a heart.There was a wonderful note from the manager congratulating us on our marriage, and chocolates laid out next to the note.Shortly after we got to the room two employees came by to make sure that everything in the room was suitable.They dropped off extra bottles of water and gave us a note to invite us to relax by the river the next day to watch some of the local wildlife.That night we visited the restaurant and had a wonderful meal, then took advantage of the steam room and the beautiful indoor/outdoor hot tubs.The next day we enjoyed the wonderful breakfast, fed the baby llamas, and relaxed at the property.My wife booked a massage, which she thoroughly enjoyed.We spent the rest of the morning and afternoon at the pool, on our gorgeous terrace, and relaxing by the river to watch the ducks!I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed staying at this property and the beautiful flowers and plants that attract various birds and wildlife.We absolutely loved our stay at the Belmond Rio Sagrado!

Very spacious and clean hotel. There is a nice walking trail around the hotel right along the river. The exercise room has a nice variety of equipment that is well-spaced around the area. People are very friendly and accommodating to English or Spanish. We received great directions around the hotel and for accessing the town just outside the hotel. The design of the hotel is outdoorsy and elegant at the same time with slanted wooden beams that resemble trees. The spa is great with an indoor/outdoor pool. You can even get a haircut. There were many breakfast options. Dinner is heavy. The pillow chocolate tastes delicious.
