“O Viagem sem Escalas amou o Fairmont Orchid. O resort tem uma piscina à beira-mar de 10.000 pés quadrados de tirar o fôlego! O resort tem 32 acres à beira-mar de exuberantes jardins tropicais, cachoeiras em cascata e uma tranquila praia e lagoa de areia branca. Um luxo! O calor e serenidade da ilha se refletem no design os 540 quartos do resort. É muito luxo! Dentro do hotel,é possível conhecer uma das maiores concentrações de arte rupestre de toda a cadeia de ilhas havaianas. Trata-se do Distrito Arqueológico Puakō Petroglyph . É uma trilha de quase 1200 petróglifos durante uma pequena trilha. O melhor é que essa trilha pode ser acessada a partir do interior do resort. Basta cruzar o campo de golfe do Fairmont. Dentro do Fairmont, é possível fazer trilhas ao redor de praias desertas rústicas com visuais de tirar o fôlego! Leve um tênis e divirta-se. O Fairmont conta com serviço de shuttle exclusivo que leva os hóspedes até alguns pontos turísticos ao redor de sua propriedade. E, olha, não faltam opções. Por isso, pedimos para conhecer a praia de areia preta, a 49 Black Sand Beach. Como a praia fica dentro de um condomínio, o shutlle do Fairmont te deixa na entrada e é preciso andar cerca de 20 minutos. Mas o visual compensa. O Shuttle do Fairmont leva ainda até The Shops at Mauna Lai. Mesmo estando no Hawaii, por que não ir fazer umas comprinhas, não é mesmo?”

“As others have mentioned, I’m not sure how the Fairmont classifies as a 5 star hotel. I’ll start with the positive - the grounds are absolutely stunning and well maintained. The staff are also extremely friendly and accommodating.
The bad - the rooms are extremely outdated. Bathrooms are so old that there is mold buildup. You can see they try to clean, but there comes a point when things just need to be replaced. Furniture in the rooms is also outdated and shows a lot of signs of wear and tear.
Food is fine, but definitely not worth the markup. Hotel food everywhere is expensive but the food here is quite bland.
If you expect 10/10 rooms that usually accompany 5 star ratings, stay elsewhere. If you are willing to overlook outdated rooms and focus on the grounds/pool/beach, you’ll enjoy yourself.
Tip: make reservations far in advance of your stay. I followed this advice from other reviewers prior to coming and am glad I did!”
